BOTI’s change management training is a practical one-day course for managers and team leaders who must plan a change, win support for it and help people adjust. It is a professional skills course, not a formal change management certification: delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance. Deal Effectively with Change with our Change Management Training Course
Change is constant at work. Technology, processes, structures, people and methods keep shifting, and each shift changes how teams do their daily tasks. When a change is planned and communicated well, people adapt faster and the organisation keeps performing during the transition. This course gives your delegates the skills to manage that process.

The programme gives leaders tools to put changes in place more efficiently and to have those changes accepted. It also shows every delegate how change is introduced in an organisation and how to manage their own reactions to it.
Who should attend
The course suits:
- Managers, supervisors and team leaders who must introduce a new system, structure, process or policy
- Project team members who carry the people side of a project
- HR and training staff who support staff through restructuring or new ways of working
- Employees who want to handle change at work with less stress
Recommended Prior Experience and Knowledge: Change Management Training Course
No prior training in change management is needed. It helps if delegates bring a real change they face at work, such as a system roll-out, a merger of teams or a new reporting line. The exercises can then be applied directly to it.
What you will be able to do after the course
- Prepare a change strategy and pull together the right team to drive it
- Explain the change in terms of “what is in it for me” so that staff buy in
- Recognise how individuals process change and respond to their concerns
- Handle pushback, delegate tasks and keep communication open while the change is under way
- Gather feedback, evaluate progress and adapt the plan
- Use Appreciative Inquiry to build on what already works
- Build resilience and flexibility in yourself and your team

Change management certification in South Africa: what to expect
People searching for a “change management certification” usually want one of two things: practical skills they can use on a current change, or a formal credential for their CV. BOTI’s change management course delivers the first. It is a short professional skills course, and the certificate is a BOTI certificate of attendance. It does not carry NQF credits.
If you need a formal, registered management qualification, BOTI offers the National Certificate: Generic Management (NQF Level 5), SAQA ID 59201. This is a legacy Services SETA qualification. Under the final transitional arrangements, new learners may enrol until 30 June 2028 and must complete it by 30 June 2031[1][2]. You can see BOTI’s other formal options on the accredited courses page.
