Change management Course

“When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which are open for us.” Alexander Graham Bell

Thank you Mr. Bell, if we had not changed and improved upon your invention, we would not have the internet today. Change is constant and change happens continuously in our lives and in business. This workshop is designed to follow on from Business Succession Planning.

In this Change management Course we aim to give leaders and managers the tools to implement change successfully. We will begin by teaching participants how to define a strategy for change which is relevant to each participant’s needs. The most important thing managers need to remember about implementing change is that everybody else is asking themselves – What’s in it for me? Answer that question and you will have all the support you need to implement change and make it stick.

We will also link this workshop back to our workshop on Appreciative Inquiry and how to use those skills, for more about Appreciative Inquiry please proceed to the link. Based on the meaning of the words Appreciative Inquiry works on the principle that organizations are not problems to be solved, rather they have been created to fulfill a need. Participants may also wish to complete the Appreciative Inquiry workshop to complement their change management knowledge.

However, the first thing we look at comprehensively is building a team for change, and in this module we teach participants the six key elements members of the team should display in a high degree of skill.

Next we deal in detail in the Change management Course with reactions to change and we examine the tools to help the change process. Then in the Change management Course , we look at preparation and planning for change, keeping the lines of communication open and delegating tasks. When planning a change it is important to get people on your side, and in the next module we look at helping you build support by gathering data, addressing concerns and issues and evaluating and adapting.

TIP:  The LEAD model provides a simple method for facilitating change. It is based on four concepts – Lead with objectives; Empower to participate; Aim for consensus and Direct the process.

We then come to the end of the Change management Course  at boti.co.za and we round it off by spending the last two modules sharing the five easy steps of building resilience, so that your company sees opportunities in change, and five easy steps to becoming more flexible towards change which will benefit either an individual or a business.
