What do you do when you’re between the devil and the deep blue sea? You fall back on your business ethics of course, and they will keep you in good stead. This course follows the other people skills and management courses we have presented so far. In short we will teach participants how to define and understand ethics, and we will explain why business ethics are so important in the present business world. We teach participants to understand the benefits of ethics and we make this course relevant to our participants by helping them to create strategies to implement business ethics at their own company’s. Because ethics does not only improve business, it changes lives we will help participants to recognise both their social and business responsibility. We will also teach participants to recognise unethical behaviour and how to avoid conflicts with ethics. Our workshop participants will learn how to make ethical decisions and lead with integrity. TIP: A company’s ethics determine its reputation. Good business ethics are essential for the long term success of an organization. We will look in depth at what ethical obligations are and how they relate to employees, share holders and investors, customers, the community and other companies. We discuss the top ten benefits of managing ethics and we spend an entire module learning how to implement ethics in the workplace and explain how ethics will lead to better growth and bigger profits. We will learn the organizational benefits of ethics in the workplace and how it affects the productivity of employees. We then thoroughly explore identifying the types of responsibilities; such as legal, financial and philanthropic responsibilities. Possibly the most important part of the course will be teaching our participants how to make ethical decisions. We will learn how to balance personal and organizational ethics and in our activities worksheet we will practically apply our new knowledge when facing common dilemmas. We move on to managerial ethics and specifically concentrate on ethical management, identifying the characteristics of ethical management and how to ensure ethical behaviour. We end our course by spending two modules on addressing ethics in business. We explain organization basics and ethical principles. We will help participants whether managers or employees to develop a code of ethics specific and relevant to your company. We will also teach students what an internal ethic audit is and how it will benefit their workplace tremendously. Now that we know what ethics are, how to implement them, the different responsibilities and the benefits of business ethics we will talk about upholding the ethics program we implement.
